Straightforward ways to boost high-tech supporting industry in Da Nang
High-tech supporting industry plays an essential role for economic development in Da Nang. However, the connection between high-tech enterprises and supporting enterprises is still weak.
High-tech supporting manufacturing enterprises haven’t grown strong as they are facing many difficulties in meeting criteria to become a supplier for high-tech enterprises as well as seeking production facilities… So what is the solution?
Identify prioritized high-tech supporting products
Da Nang High-Tech Park was established in 2010, covering an area of 1,128 ha, located in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district. Recently, Da Nang has focused on investing in technical infrastructure for the High-Tech Park, developing preferential policies to attract investors.
In fact, high-tech manufacturing enterprises need a lot of suppliers. However, it’s hard to find because many suppliers do not meet criteria to be recognized as high-tech supporting manufacturing enterprises as prescribed. One of the main reasons comes from their vague awareness of high-tech supporting products.
Prioritized high-tech supporting products are specified in Section VI, Appendix of List of Prioritized products of supporting industries, promulgated together with Decree No. 111/2015/ND-CP dated November 3, 2005 of the Government, including:
- Types of mold: High precision molds, high precision mold for plastic casting;
- High standard mechanical parts: Types of nuts, bolts, screws and high – precision equipment used in electronics, mechanical electronic parts, medical electronics, industrial robots;
- Types of electronic components, electronic circuits used for creating equipment: Peripheral equipment, computers, electronic appliances, audiovisual equipment, solar cells; microprocessors; controllers (PLC, High-tech controllers,... );
- Components and accessories used for new power generator and renewable generator;
- High quality plastic components: High precision drive train, durable, heat-resistant and wear-resistant plastic components;
- Types of sensors: Air sensor, acceleration sensors, magnetic sensors, biological sensors, temperature sensors, moisture sensors, light sensors, pressure sensors;
- New generation engines: Electric motors, magnetic motors, servo motors, reluctance motors, linear motors
- High accuracy actuators./.
Production space solution for supporting manufacturing enteprises
Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, cum Head of the Management Board of High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones said, Da Nang High-Tech Park has had 8 foreign-invested projects with total capital of USD 258 million and 9 domestic investment projects with total investment capital of VND 5,272 billion granted investment registration certificates. Currently, 4 factories have been put into operation, other projects are deploying investment.
However, many investors recommend that Da Nang needs to provide production space to boost supporting manufacturing enterprises, due to huge demand for finding suppliers of high-tech enterprises.
On the other hand, supporting enterprises often need small production space from 500 sqm, located close to the High-tech Park or no more than 30 minutes moving to ensure quick supply. However, due to the limited land fund, the search is not easy.
Perspective of the first ready-built factory project in Da Nang High-tech Park
Realizing the demand, Long Hau Corporation (LHC) implemented Long Hau High-tech factory in Da Nang High-tech Park with a total area of 29.6 hectares and an investment of VND 1,050 billion. With flexible leasable size of 500 – 3,000 spm, the High-tech factory focuses on attracting high-tech supporting manufacturing enterprises, who are suppliers for investors here.
The project is divided into 3 phases. Phase 1 is built at Lot J4 - ancillary area of Da Nang High-tech Park with a total area of 10,000 sqm. Long Hau will hand over ready-built factories with full technical infrastructure and services. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the end of November 2019.
Specifically, LHC will be the representative agency to register high-tech supporting industries through one-stop procedure, helping investors save time and quickly get into operation.
