LONG HAU IP strategic destination for Logistic Investors

According to the economic cooperation programmes between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An province aimed at urbanising Can Gioc district (Long An) into a modern industrial city near Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Company (IPC), a company very successful in developing infrastructure with sizable projects such as the New Phu My Hung Urban Area, the Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT), the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, and the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, had earlier decided to prepare 300 hectares of Long Hau to perform this task. Long Hau IP is situated in the master plan for the Hiep Phuoc Port urban area covering an area of 3,900 hectares in the prioritized strategic zone for industrial development towards the East Sea of Long An province, 12 km from the new Phu My Hung Urban Area, and three kilometers from SPCT and Saigon Hiep  Phuoc Port. It can be said that Long Hau IP is the optimal solution, a strategic destination for logistics investors, exporters and importers in the southern region.

For investors who need to transport products from their factories to Ho Chi Mnh City, Long Hau IP is also seen as a safe solution to the problem of shortening transport time and saving money.
According to a report on business results, by January 2010, Long Hau IP attracted 58 investors with logistics companies accounting for 28 per cent of all enterprises from various industries investing in the IP, occupying 80 per cent of the existent land of the IP, and 30 per cent of the extended land with total investment capital of VND3,000 billion ($157.89 million) and $79 million. According to unbiased opinions, Long Hau IP is becoming a Vietnamese leading model IP in attracting foreign and domestic logistics investors.

Mr. Pyo Kyung Young, director general of LOTTE-SEA LOGISTICS, said that investing in Long Hau IP helps meet Long Hau IP-based logistics investors’s transport requirements as it is convenient for the overland transport of goods and facilitates the investors’ purchase of materials in the Western and Eastern parts of the South at low cost.
